AdCMVIL-12

AdCMVIL-12 is an investigational gene therapy consisting of a recombinant, replication-defective adenoviral vector encoding the human interleukin-12 (IL-12) gene under the control of a cytomegalovirus (CMV) promoter. Upon administration, the vector delivers the IL-12 gene to host cells, resulting in local expression of the IL-12 cytokine, which in turn stimulates an anti-tumor immune response by promoting the activation of cytotoxic T cells and natural killer cells. The therapy is being developed primarily as an intratumoral immunotherapeutic approach for the treatment of cancers such as melanoma and other solid tumors.
