Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AddAmino is a parenteral amino acid infusion (7% w/v) formulated with malic acid, specifically designed to meet the nutritional and metabolic needs of patients with renal insufficiency. Developed by Steadfast Medishield, it contains a balanced mixture of essential and non-essential amino acids (including L-isoleucine, L-leucine, L-lysine, L-methionine, L-phenylalanine, L-threonine, L-tryptophan, L-valine, L-arginine, L-histidine, glycine, L-alanine, L-proline, L-serine, and acetylcysteine) along with malic acid. It is administered intravenously to treat or prevent nutritional deficiencies and counteract protein-energy wasting (PEW) when oral or enteral nutrition is inadequate or impossible, particularly in patients undergoing dialysis or with chronic kidney disease.
