Overview

ADDoCoV is a thermostable COVID-19 candidate vaccine developed by Imophoron using the ADDomer (Adenovirus-derived dodecamer) platform. The vaccine consists of a synthetic self-assembling protein nanoparticle scaffold that displays multiple copies of a SARS-CoV-2 receptor binding motif (RBM)-derived epitope. Designed for intranasal administration, it aims to induce mucosal and systemic immune responses against SARS-CoV-2. A key feature of the ADDomer platform is its high thermal stability, remaining stable at temperatures exceeding 50°C, which potentially eliminates the need for cold-chain logistics. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that the vaccine induces strong immune responses and generates antibodies that cross-react with various variants of concern, including Delta and Omicron.
