Overview

Adebezilimab (formerly SHR-1316, and sometimes transliterated as aldeberlimab) is a humanized IgG4 monoclonal antibody that targets programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1), developed by Jiangsu Hengrui Pharmaceuticals. By binding to PD-L1, it prevents the interaction with its receptors PD-1 and B7.1, thereby relieving the suppression of T-cell activity and enhancing the anti-tumor immune response. In March 2023, the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) of China approved adebezilimab for use in combination with carboplatin and etoposide for the first-line treatment of patients with extensive-stage small cell lung cancer (ES-SCLC). It is currently being investigated in various combinations, including with the PARP inhibitor fluzoparib, across multiple solid tumor types such as non-small cell lung cancer, gastric cancer, and esophageal cancer.
