This neoadjuvant combination therapy regimen consists of adebrelimab, an anti-PD-L1 monoclonal antibody, combined with albumin-bound paclitaxel (nab-paclitaxel) and cisplatin. It is specifically being investigated for the treatment of resectable locally advanced thoracic esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). Adebrelimab functions as an immune checkpoint inhibitor by targeting the PD-L1 pathway to restore anti-tumor immune responses. Albumin-bound paclitaxel is a microtubule-stabilizing agent that inhibits cell division, while cisplatin is a platinum-based chemotherapy that induces DNA damage. The regimen is currently being evaluated in a Phase 2 clinical trial (NCT06663059) sponsored by Tang-Du Hospital to compare the efficacy and safety of different treatment durations (2 vs. 4 cycles) prior to surgical resection.
