Overview
Adebrelimab + etoposide + platinum-based drugs is a combination chemo-immunotherapy regimen primarily used for the first-line treatment of extensive-stage small cell lung cancer (ES-SCLC). Adebrelimab (SHR-1316) is a humanized IgG4 monoclonal antibody developed by Jiangsu Hengrui Pharmaceuticals that targets programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1), preventing its interaction with PD-1 and B7.1 to restore anti-tumor T-cell activity. This is combined with etoposide, a topoisomerase II inhibitor, and a platinum agent (either cisplatin or carboplatin) which acts as a DNA-damaging agent. The regimen was approved in China following the results of the Phase 3 CAPSTONE-1 trial. Fujian Cancer Hospital has been involved in further evaluating this combination, including its use in sequential maintenance strategies involving apatinib.
