This combination therapy consists of adebrelimab, a fully humanized IgG4 monoclonal antibody targeting programmed cell death-ligand 1 (PD-L1), and a liposomal formulation of irinotecan (Irinotecan Liposome (II)). Adebrelimab acts as an immune checkpoint inhibitor by blocking the interaction between PD-L1 and its receptors, thereby restoring and enhancing the anti-tumor immune response. Irinotecan is a cytotoxic chemotherapy agent that inhibits DNA topoisomerase I, leading to double-strand DNA breaks and the inhibition of cell replication. The liposomal delivery system is designed to prolong circulation time and improve drug accumulation within tumor tissues. This specific combination is being investigated for the treatment of extensive-stage small cell lung cancer (ES-SCLC) in patients who have previously progressed on immune checkpoint inhibitors, sometimes in further combination with the tyrosine kinase inhibitor famitinib.
