adecatumumab + docetaxel

Adecatumumab + docetaxel is a combination therapy consisting of adecatumumab, a recombinant human IgG1 monoclonal antibody targeting the epithelial cell adhesion molecule (EpCAM), and docetaxel, a taxane-class chemotherapeutic agent. Adecatumumab exerts its antitumor effects primarily through antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC) by binding to EpCAM on tumor cells, leading to immune-mediated destruction. Docetaxel disrupts microtubule function, inhibiting cell division and promoting apoptosis in rapidly dividing cancer cells. This combination has been investigated in clinical trials for advanced-stage breast cancer, particularly in patients with EpCAM-positive relapsed or refractory disease.
