IRDye800CW-MT201 is a near-infrared (NIR) fluorescently labeled monoclonal antibody developed for fluorescence-guided surgery (FGS). It consists of the human IgG1 monoclonal antibody adecatumumab (MT201), which targets the epithelial cell adhesion molecule (EpCAM), conjugated to the NIR fluorophore IRDye 800CW. EpCAM is a transmembrane glycoprotein that is highly overexpressed in various epithelial malignancies, including head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC), while showing limited expression in normal tissues. By binding to EpCAM-positive tumor cells, IRDye800CW-MT201 enables real-time intraoperative visualization of primary tumors, surgical margins, and occult metastases using NIR imaging systems. This targeted imaging approach aims to assist surgeons in achieving complete tumor resection and improving oncological outcomes.
