Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Combination of adefovir and tenofovir, both nucleotide analogs that inhibit viral DNA polymerase and reverse transcriptase. This combination is contraindicated and should not be used together due to overlapping mechanisms of action and increased risk of kidney damage. Both drugs individually are used to treat chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection, with tenofovir also being used for HIV treatment.
