Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ADEL-Y03 is a preclinical-stage monoclonal antibody developed by Adel that selectively targets uncomplexed (free) beta-2-microglobulin (β2m). β2m is a key component of the major histocompatibility complex class I (MHC-I) and related molecules. While MHC-I-associated β2m is essential for normal immune surveillance, uncomplexed β2m in biological fluids acts as a systemic pro-aging factor that impairs cognitive function and is implicated in neurodegeneration, fibrosis, and inflammation. ADEL-Y03 is designed to selectively neutralize pathological free β2m without disrupting physiological MHC-I-associated complexes, thereby avoiding MHC-I-associated safety risks such as decreased immune function. The antibody has demonstrated preclinical efficacy in animal models of Alzheimer's disease (by reducing amyloid-beta aggregation, neuroinflammation, and cognitive deficits) and organ fibrosis.
