Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Adenomix-alfa is a multi-ingredient dietary supplement developed and marketed by Bio-STILOGIT Pharmaceuticals, primarily in Italy. It is formulated to support prostate health and the normal function of the urinary tract, particularly in the context of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and associated lower urinary tract symptoms. The product contains a combination of botanical extracts, including *Serenoa repens* (Saw Palmetto), *Urtica dioica* (Stinging Nettle), and *Boswellia serrata*, along with the mineral Zinc. *Serenoa repens* is recognized for its ability to inhibit 5-alpha-reductase, thereby reducing the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT), while *Boswellia* and *Urtica* provide anti-inflammatory effects by modulating leukotriene synthesis and other inflammatory mediators. Adenomix-alfa is sold as a retail consumer product and is not classified as a prescription pharmaceutical drug.
