Adenophora triphylla root ethanol extract

Adenophora triphylla root ethanol extract (ATREE) is a botanical extract derived from the roots of the perennial herb *Adenophora triphylla*. It has been studied primarily for its potential therapeutic effects in metabolic disorders, specifically obesity. Preclinical research in murine models indicates that ATREE exerts anti-obesity effects by modulating key metabolic and inflammatory pathways. Specifically, it has been shown to activate AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) and peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha (PPAR-α) signaling, while simultaneously downregulating the expression of adipogenic markers such as peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPAR-γ) and glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GPDH). Additionally, ATREE exhibits antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, reducing levels of tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) and increasing adiponectin expression, which suggests a role in mitigating oxidative stress and inflammation associated with high-fat diets.
