Overview

Adenosine cyclophosphate meglumine is a small molecule pharmaceutical consisting of the second messenger cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) complexed with meglumine to enhance solubility and bioavailability. Developed and manufactured by Chengdu Tiantai Shan Pharmaceutical, it is approved in China for the treatment of various cardiovascular conditions, including chronic heart failure, myocarditis, sick sinus syndrome, and coronary heart disease. The drug functions by increasing intracellular cAMP levels independently of beta-adrenergic receptor activation, thereby stimulating protein kinase A (PKA). This mechanism results in positive inotropic effects on the myocardium and relaxation of vascular smooth muscle, leading to improved cardiac output and reduced peripheral resistance. It is typically administered via intravenous or intramuscular injection.
