Overview

A medicinal herb native to Southeast Asia, particularly Vietnam, *Adenosma glutinosum* (also known as Adenosma glutinosa) is widely utilized in traditional medicine for its hepatoprotective and immunomodulatory properties. The plant contains a variety of bioactive compounds, including essential oils (such as cineol and limonene) and flavonoids (such as adenosmin). In clinical research settings, it has been investigated as a key component of multi-herb combinations for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B and HIV-1 infection. Its mechanism of action is primarily attributed to its flavonoids, which are thought to protect and repair CD4+ T-lymphocyte cell membranes, reduce cellular inflammation, and support the immune system's response to viral infections.
