Overview
Adenovirus serotype 26-expressing HPV16 vaccine (Ad26.HPV16, JNJ-63682918) is a genetically engineered, replication-deficient adenoviral vector (Ad26) encoding the oncogenic human papillomavirus type 16 (HPV16) antigens E6 and E7. It is designed as a therapeutic cancer vaccine to induce immune responses against cells expressing these viral oncoproteins. The primary indication is for the treatment or prevention of diseases associated with persistent infection by high-risk HPV types, particularly cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and cervical cancer caused by HPV16. The drug is being developed using recombinant technology and delivered via intramuscular injection[1][2][4][5]. Janssen has led its development in partnership with Bavarian Nordic for some clinical programs[4][8].
