Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Adenovirus type 7 vaccine live is a component of an oral vaccine used in combination with adenovirus type 4 vaccine to prevent febrile acute respiratory disease (ARD) caused by adenovirus types 4 and 7. The vaccine works by stimulating the body's immune system to produce antibodies against the virus. It is administered as enteric-coated tablets designed to pass intact through the stomach and release the live virus in the intestine. The vaccine contains live (not attenuated) virus and is approved for use in military populations 17 through 50 years of age.
