Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Adentri is an oral small molecule drug that functions as an adenosine receptor antagonist. It was developed by Biogen (formerly Biogen Idec) and investigated for the treatment of heart failure. Its mechanism of action is designed to maintain renal function and promote natriuresis (sodium excretion) in patients with heart failure. The drug progressed to Phase II clinical trials for stable heart failure and subsequently to Phase III for acute decompensated heart failure patients with renal insufficiency. Its development involved a licensing agreement with CV Therapeutics.
