Overview

Adevilimab (SHR-1603) is a humanized monoclonal antibody of the IgG4 isotype that targets CD47, a cell surface protein often overexpressed on cancer cells to evade immune surveillance. By binding to CD47, adevilimab blocks the "don't eat me" signal transmitted through the SIRPα receptor on macrophages, thereby promoting the phagocytosis and elimination of tumor cells. Developed by Jiangsu Hengrui Pharmaceuticals, the drug is being investigated in Phase II clinical trials, particularly for locally advanced cervical cancer in combination with standard-of-care chemoradiotherapy, as well as in Phase I studies for other solid tumors and lymphomas.
