Overview
Adezunap is a nano-formulated cannabinoid receptor CB1 agonist developed by Apurano Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of chronic pain and related conditions. It is an oily, lipid-based nanoparticle formulation standardized to delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and administered as a sublingual spray. Adezunap acts primarily through activation of the cannabinoid receptor CB1, modulating pain pathways in the central nervous system. Clinical studies have shown that it achieves higher plasma concentrations than currently available THC formulations without causing psychotropic effects at therapeutic doses. The drug is being investigated in multiple phase III trials for various types of chronic pain, including neuropathic and back pain[1][4][5].
