Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Adipocell** is an autologous cultured adipocyte cell therapy developed by Anterogen for treatment of depressed scars. The product is manufactured from a patient's lipoaspirate by isolating and expanding adipose tissue-derived stem cells and differentiating them into immature adipocytes for local subcutaneous administration. Its therapeutic effect is intended to restore deficient soft-tissue volume in scar depressions; implanted adipocytes may also support tissue repair through local paracrine regenerative signaling. Adipocell was evaluated in the Phase II/III study NCT00992147 for depressed scar treatment.
