Adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells (AD-MSCs) are a type of adult multipotent stromal cell isolated from adipose (fat) tissue. These cells possess the ability to self-renew and differentiate into various lineages such as osteoblasts, chondrocytes, and adipocytes. They exhibit immunomodulatory properties by modulating immune responses and reducing inflammation. AD-MSCs are being investigated for their regenerative potential in a variety of diseases including immune system disorders (such as psoriasis), musculoskeletal conditions, and other degenerative or inflammatory diseases. Their mechanism involves paracrine signaling that promotes tissue repair and modulates the local immune environment[4][6][8]. Clinical trials have demonstrated safety in administration for indications like spinal cord injury and sex hormone deficiency[6][8]. In China, clinical development is ongoing with Phase 2 studies for psoriasis[4].
