Adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cell injection is a cell therapy product consisting of multipotent stromal cells isolated from adipose tissue and expanded in vitro. Developed by Guangdong Sail Biological Technology, this therapeutic is being investigated for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). The mechanism of action involves the secretion of paracrine factors and cytokines that exert immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory effects, which are intended to reduce systemic insulin resistance and protect pancreatic beta-cell function. In clinical settings, the product is administered via intravenous injection, often in single or repeated weekly doses, to patients whose diabetes is inadequately controlled by intensive insulin therapy and who are at high risk for cardiovascular or renal complications.
