Adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cell secretome is a cell-free therapeutic agent consisting of the complete set of paracrine factors—including cytokines, chemokines, growth factors, and extracellular vesicles—secreted by mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) derived from adipose tissue. Developed by Indonesia University (Universitas Indonesia), it is being investigated for the treatment of Multiple System Atrophy (MSA). The secretome is intended to stop clinical neurodegeneration by providing local support for damaged tissue and promoting regeneration through the delivery of neurotrophic factors such as IGF-1 and BDNF. In clinical trial settings, it has been administered intravenously as part of a regimen that may also include the intrathecal implantation of umbilical cord-derived MSCs.
