Overview

Adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells secretome (ADMSCS) is a cell-free biologic therapeutic derived from the conditioned medium of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) obtained from adipose tissue. Developed by Indonesia University and Dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital, the secretome contains a complex mixture of bioactive molecules, including growth factors (such as TGF-beta 3), cytokines, and extracellular vesicles (exosomes and microvesicles). In the treatment of melasma, the secretome exerts a depigmenting effect by modulating tissue formation and inhibiting melanogenesis. Specifically, components like TGF-beta 3 suppress the expression of microphthalmia-associated transcription factor (MITF) via the ERK signaling pathway, leading to reduced tyrosinase activity and melanin accumulation. The product is typically administered via intradermal injection.
