Overview

This investigational cell therapy, developed by TC Erciyes University, consists of allogeneic adipose-derived mesenchymal stromal cells (ADMSCs). It is currently being evaluated in Phase 1/2 clinical trials (NCT05283317) for the treatment of sepsis and septic shock. The therapy is produced under Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) conditions at the university's Genome and Stem Cell Center (GENKOK). ADMSCs function by modulating the immune system and systemic inflammatory response, specifically targeting the 'cytokine storm' associated with severe sepsis. The treatment involves multiple intravenous infusions of 1 × 10^6 cells/kg, aimed at improving clinical outcomes and reducing mortality by balancing pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory cytokine levels, including TNF-α, IL-6, and IL-10.
