Adipose-derived stem cell (ADSC) secretome is an investigational biologic therapy consisting of the paracrine factors secreted by stem cells derived from adipose tissue. This 'conditioned media' contains a variety of bioactive molecules, including growth factors (such as VEGF, HGF, and IGF-1), cytokines, and exosomes. In the context of androgenetic alopecia, the secretome is administered via intradermal injections into the scalp to stimulate hair follicle stem cells, promote the transition of hair follicles from the telogen (resting) phase to the anagen (growth) phase, and improve hair density and thickness. The research is led by Dr. Lili Legiawati at Universitas Indonesia and Dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital, with support from PT. Kimia Farma.
