Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The adjuvanted recombinant 2009 H1N1 pandemic influenza vaccine is a protein subunit vaccine developed by Vaxine Pty Ltd. It consists of a recombinant hemagglutinin (rHA) protein derived from the A/California/04/2009 (H1N1) pandemic strain, produced using a baculovirus expression system in insect cells. The vaccine is formulated with Advax, a proprietary adjuvant based on delta-inulin particles that enhances both humoral and cellular immune responses. Clinical trials, such as NCT01014806, evaluated the vaccine's safety and immunogenicity in healthy adults, demonstrating its ability to induce high titers of neutralizing antibodies with a favorable safety profile. This candidate was part of the rapid response efforts during the 2009 H1N1 influenza pandemic.
