Overview

ADO-5030 is a small molecule adenosine 2B receptor (A2BR) antagonist being developed as a novel first-line therapy for asthma. The drug is designed to target the adenosine signaling pathway, which plays a key role in immune and inflammatory responses implicated in asthma pathophysiology. By antagonizing the A2B receptor, ADO-5030 aims to reduce airway inflammation and hyperresponsiveness. Preclinical studies have also shown efficacy in models of chronic pain and cancer, suggesting broader therapeutic potential. The compound was originally developed by Purnovate (a subsidiary of Adial Pharmaceuticals), with current development led by Adovate LLC following acquisition of relevant assets[1][2][5][7].
