Overview

ADP062 is an investigational small interfering RNA (siRNA) therapeutic being developed by Alector. It is designed to target and reduce the expression of alpha-synuclein (α-Syn), a protein that abnormally aggregates in the brains of patients with synucleinopathies, including Parkinson's disease, Multiple System Atrophy (MSA), and Dementia with Lewy Bodies (DLB). By utilizing the RNA interference (RNAi) pathway, ADP062 aims to lower the production of α-Syn at the genetic level by degrading its messenger RNA (mRNA), potentially slowing or halting the progression of neurodegeneration associated with toxic protein accumulation.
