Overview

ADP064-ABC is an investigational therapeutic candidate developed by Alector for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, specifically Alzheimer's disease and frontotemporal dementia. It targets tau pathology by combining an anti-tau small interfering RNA (siRNA) with Alector’s proprietary Brain Carrier (ABC) technology. The siRNA component is designed to inhibit the synthesis of tau mRNA and protein, thereby reducing pathological tau accumulation in the brain. The ABC platform aims to enhance delivery across the blood-brain barrier. This dual approach seeks to slow cognitive decline associated with tauopathies by preventing toxic tau buildup[1][2][3][4][5][7].
