Overview

Adrecizumab is a proprietary humanized monoclonal antibody that specifically targets adrenomedullin (ADM), an endogenous peptide hormone involved in maintaining vascular integrity. By binding to ADM, adrecizumab stabilizes its levels in the bloodstream and supports its beneficial effects on endothelial function while preventing excessive vasodilation. This mechanism helps restore and maintain vascular barrier function, reducing fluid leakage into tissues—a key factor in conditions like septic shock and acute heart failure. Adrecizumab has demonstrated safety and tolerability in Phase I studies and showed promising efficacy signals in Phase II trials for septic shock by improving organ function and reducing short-term mortality[2][5][8]. The drug is being developed as a first-in-class therapy for diseases characterized by impaired vascular integrity.
