Overview

The adsorbed acellular diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, inactivated poliovirus, and Haemophilus influenzae type b pentavalent combined vaccine is a multi-antigen biologic developed by **Shenzhen Kangtai Biological Products Co., Ltd. (Biokangtai)**. This pediatric combination vaccine is designed to provide simultaneous protection against five major infectious diseases: diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), poliomyelitis, and invasive disease caused by *Haemophilus influenzae* type b (Hib). The formulation utilizes acellular pertussis antigens (rather than whole-cell components) and inactivated poliovirus (IPV) types 1, 2, and 3, alongside diphtheria and tetanus toxoids and a Hib conjugate, all adsorbed onto an aluminum-based adjuvant to enhance immunogenicity. By combining these five components into a single injection, the vaccine aims to simplify the immunization schedule for infants and young children, improving compliance and reducing the number of required clinical visits. It is currently in Phase 2 clinical development in China, with reports indicating it is approaching Phase 3.
