Overview

The adsorbed acellular diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis and inactivated poliomyelitis combined vaccine (DTaP-sIPV) is a quadrivalent combination vaccine designed to provide active immunization against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, and poliomyelitis. This specific formulation, being evaluated in clinical trials in China, incorporates the Sabin strain for its inactivated poliovirus (sIPV) component, distinguishing it from traditional Salk-strain IPV vaccines. The vaccine is adsorbed onto an aluminum-based adjuvant to enhance the immune response and is administered via intramuscular injection. It is primarily intended for use in infants and young children, with clinical studies assessing its safety and immunogenicity in populations aged 2 months to 6 years.
