Overview

The adsorbed acellular diphtheria tetanus pertussis Haemophilus influenzae type b inactivated poliovirus combined vaccine is a pentavalent combination vaccine developed by Shenzhen Kangtai Biological Products (Biokangtai) and its subsidiary, Beijing Minhai Biotechnology. It is designed for the active immunization of infants and children against five major infectious diseases: diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, poliomyelitis, and invasive diseases caused by *Haemophilus influenzae* type b (Hib). The vaccine contains diphtheria and tetanus toxoids, acellular pertussis antigens (typically pertussis toxoid and filamentous hemagglutinin), inactivated poliovirus (types 1, 2, and 3), and Hib capsular polysaccharide conjugated to a carrier protein (tetanus toxoid). It is adsorbed onto an aluminum-based adjuvant to enhance the immune response. The vaccine was approved by the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) in China, providing a simplified immunization schedule by reducing the number of injections required compared to individual vaccines.
