The adsorbed acellular pertussis (2-component), diphtheria and tetanus combined vaccine for adults and adolescents (Tdap) is an investigational trivalent combination vaccine developed by Changchun BCHT Biotechnology. Unlike traditional co-purified vaccines, this formulation utilizes a component-based purification process, containing defined amounts of inactivated pertussis toxin (PT), filamentous hemagglutinin (FHA), diphtheria toxoid, and tetanus toxoid. It is formulated with an aluminum-CpG adjuvant system to enhance immunogenicity, particularly stimulating robust cellular and humoral immune responses. The vaccine is designed for active immunization against pertussis, diphtheria, and tetanus in individuals aged 10 years and older, addressing the rising incidence of pertussis in adolescents and adults. It is currently in Phase 1/2 clinical development in China.
