AdvaCoat

AdvaCoat is a bio-absorbable, anti-adhesion film developed by Advaite to reduce the incidence and severity of post-operative adhesions. Adhesions are abnormal bands of fibrous tissue that form between internal organs and tissues following surgical trauma, which can lead to significant complications such as chronic pelvic pain, intestinal obstruction, and infertility. AdvaCoat is applied directly to the surgical site, where it serves as a temporary physical barrier that separates adjacent tissue surfaces during the critical 7-to-10-day healing window. The film is composed of biocompatible materials designed to be naturally degraded and absorbed by the body once the risk of adhesion formation has diminished, eliminating the need for a second procedure to remove the barrier. It is primarily intended for use in abdominal, pelvic, and spinal surgical procedures.
