Overview

Advanced Platelet-Rich Fibrin Plus (A-PRF+) is a third-generation autologous platelet concentrate (APC) produced through a specific low-speed centrifugation concept (LSCC). By utilizing lower g-forces and shorter centrifugation times compared to traditional Leukocyte- and Platelet-Rich Fibrin (L-PRF), the A-PRF+ protocol results in a fibrin scaffold with increased porosity and a more homogenous distribution of white blood cells and platelets. This matrix acts as a bioactive reservoir that slowly releases essential growth factors, including Platelet-Derived Growth Factor (PDGF), Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF), and Transforming Growth Factor beta (TGF-β). A-PRF+ is primarily utilized in regenerative dentistry and oral surgery to promote angiogenesis, tissue epithelialization, and stem cell proliferation. It is frequently employed for the revascularization of necrotic immature permanent teeth, socket preservation, alveolar ridge augmentation, and the management of gingival recessions.
