Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**ADVAX** is an investigational multigenic **DNA plasmid preventive HIV-1 vaccine** developed from a clade C/B' circulating recombinant form of HIV-1 prevalent in Yunnan, China. The product is a 1:1 mixture of two pVAX-derived plasmids encoding HIV-1 **Env, Gag, Pol, Nef, and Tat** antigens. It is intended to induce HIV-specific cellular and humoral immune responses and was evaluated in healthy HIV-uninfected adults in Phase 1 studies, including intramuscular administration and intramuscular administration with in vivo electroporation.
