ADVC001 is a novel alpha-emitting radiopharmaceutical designed to target prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) in patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). The drug consists of a high-affinity peptide ligand that binds to PSMA receptors on prostate cancer cells and is radiolabeled with lead-212 (212Pb), an alpha particle–emitting radionuclide. Upon binding to the tumor cell, 212Pb decays and emits alpha particles that induce double-stranded DNA breaks within a very short range, leading to highly localized cytotoxicity and minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissue. The relatively short half-life of 212Pb (~10.6 hours) allows for potent therapeutic effects while reducing prolonged radiation exposure. ADVC001 is being developed by AdvanCell and is currently in Phase 1/2 clinical trials for mCRPC[1][2][3][5][7].
