AdVMART1

AdVMART1 is a replication-defective **adenoviral vector encoding the full-length human melanoma antigen MART-1/Melan-A**. It is used to transduce autologous dendritic cells (DCs), which are then administered as a **therapeutic cancer vaccine**. The vaccine aims to stimulate **MART-1–specific CD8^+^ and CD4^+^ T-cell responses**, harnessing the patient's immune system to target and kill metastatic melanoma cells. Its mechanism relies on the presentation of the MART-1 antigen via both MHC class I and class II pathways, thereby activating cytotoxic and helper T cells. AdVMART1 increases the breadth of immune responses to other melanoma antigens through determinant spreading. Primary indication is **metastatic melanoma**.
