ADX-248 is an investigational, next-generation small molecule drug developed as a RASP (Reactive Aldehyde Species) modulator. It is designed to reduce inflammation and the formation of macromolecular aggregates associated with immune-mediated diseases of the retina, particularly geographic atrophy and the dry form of age-related macular degeneration (AMD). The drug acts by inhibiting reactive aldehyde species, which are implicated in retinal toxicity and visual deficits such as dark adaptation impairment. ADX-248 is administered via intravitreal injection and represents a targeted approach to modulating pathological metabolic processes in retinal disease. Clinical development also includes evaluation for atopic dermatitis based on preclinical efficacy[1][3][4][5][6][7][9].
