Overview

ADX-631 is a small molecule drug candidate developed by Aldeyra Therapeutics. It is a novel reactive aldehyde species (RASP) modulator and an analog of ADX-103, which previously demonstrated activity in animal models of dry age-related macular degeneration (AMD). The mechanism of action involves inhibition of RASP, which are implicated in inflammatory and metabolic diseases. Preclinical studies have shown potential for the treatment of geographic atrophy, dry age-related macular degeneration, diabetic macular oedema, retinitis, obesity, hypertriglyceridemia, atopic dermatitis, and other immune-mediated or metabolic disorders. As of June 2025, IND-enabling studies are ongoing with plans to submit an IND application for the treatment of dry AMD or geographic atrophy in the first half of 2025[1][2][5][9].
