Overview

Adze1.C is a genetically modified oncolytic adenovirus developed for the treatment of advanced melanoma. It is engineered with specific deletions in the E1A region, a replacement of the hexon variable region (HVR) with that from HAdV-C657, and a deletion in the E3 region replaced with engineered sequences, all of which are designed to alter tropism and immune evasion. Adze1.C is administered intratumorally in a dose-escalation Phase 1 clinical trial, aiming to assess safety and determine the maximum tolerated dose in adults with advanced melanoma that has not responded to standard treatments. Oncolytic viruses like Adze1.C selectively replicate within and lyse cancer cells, thereby stimulating anti-tumor immunity[1][5][7].
