Overview

AEB2109 is an engineered human enzyme therapy that degrades methionine, under development as an antineoplastic agent targeting the methionine dependence characteristic of certain cancers. It is classified as a new molecular entity and is being developed for oncologic indications such as solid tumors and hematological malignancies. The drug is being developed as part of Spyre Therapeutics' (formerly Aeglea Biotherapeutics) enzyme therapeutics program, aimed at targeting tumor biology through depletion of key amino acids required by cancer cells[1][10][13].
