Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AER002 is a long-acting fully human anti-SARS-CoV-2 spike protein monoclonal antibody that blocks spike-ACE2 interactions, viral attachment and internalization. It is being developed by Aerium Therapeutics for the treatment of post-acute COVID-19 syndrome (Long COVID). The antibody has demonstrated potent neutralization against multiple SARS-CoV-2 variants including Alpha, Beta, Delta, and several Omicron subvariants, though it has reduced effectiveness against newer variants like BQ.1.1, XBB.1, and XBB.1.5. In clinical trials, it has shown an extended half-life of 97.5 days and good safety profile.
