AER004 is a monoclonal antibody discovered by Michel Nussenzweig at Rockefeller University, designed to block the receptor-binding domain (RBD) of the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein in a manner complementary to AER003. It has been in-licensed by Aerium Therapeutics for development as part of their lead program AER800, a combination product with AER003 that covers nearly all ACE2 binding sites on the RBD, providing broad protection against SARS-CoV-2 variants including previous and circulating strains. The antibody has been modified for long-acting activity and potent neutralization, targeting immunocompromised patients and prevention of COVID-19.[3][9][11][15]
