Overview

AERO-001 is a long-acting beta-agonist (LABA) bronchodilator developed as part of a fixed-dose combination therapy for respiratory diseases. It is one of the active components in investigational inhaled therapies, including combinations with glycopyrrolate (a long-acting muscarinic antagonist, LAMA), such as AERO-007. The drug is being developed by AeroRx Therapeutics and has been studied for use in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma. In clinical studies, AERO-001 is administered via inhalation—either as a dry powder or nebulized solution—and aims to provide bronchodilation by targeting airway smooth muscle relaxation through beta 2 adrenergic receptor agonism[1][3][4]. As part of combination therapies, it may be used to improve lung function and reduce exacerbations in patients not fully controlled on standard treatments.
