Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AEX-19 is a small molecule dual agonist of the orexin 1 (OX1R) and orexin 2 (OX2R) receptors, currently in the IND-enabling stage of development by Aexon Labs. The orexin system is a key regulator of sleep-wake cycles, and AEX-19 aims to address conditions characterized by orexin deficiency or impaired signaling. By activating both receptor subtypes, the compound is intended to promote wakefulness and stability of arousal, making it a candidate for the treatment of narcolepsy and other hypersomnia disorders.
