Overview

AF-Xb is an orally available small molecule drug candidate developed by SJT Molecular Research. It is currently in the preclinical stage of development for the treatment of a cluster of metabolic and cardiovascular conditions, including non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), obesity, hypertension, dyslipidemia, and type 2 diabetes. Preclinical validation in animal models, such as high-fat diet-induced obesity (DIO) mice and spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR), has demonstrated that AF-Xb can reduce blood glucose levels, insulin resistance, blood pressure, plasma cholesterol, and hepatic steatosis and inflammation. The compound belongs to a new family of molecules designed for oral therapeutic potential in metabolic syndrome-related disorders.
